Style & Philosophy
"It's quite possible that no one will ever read your book as carefully—right down to the nuclear level—as your copy editor. Enjoy that."

Many of my clients describe my work style as "collaborative," and with good reason. I believe editing should be a deep, meaningful experience—for both parties. If we’re not both growing a little and having fun during the process, what’s the point?
I am proud to practice Immersion Editing*: a high-quality, professional edit combined with a positive personal connection built on trust, helping to bring both the author and their manuscript to full potential. This approach is scalable to any step in the editorial process, and it has some overlap with creativity coaching. Sure, I can do transactional work, but I excel on mid- to high-involvement projects.
I'll get to know you and your manuscript (including any strengths, weaknesses, goals, etc.), help you define the scope of the edit, then work back and forth with you in a respectful, productive way until you're happy with the results. At its best, it's a fun, educational, and collaborative process that leaves both parties with a positive outlook on the project and themselves!
If you've taken your manuscript (or shorter written project) as far as you can on your own, let's connect!
